
Houston authorities are currently probing a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a young man in the city's east end. The Houston Police Department discovered the victim, whose name has yet to be released, at the scene of 2919 Rosewood Street shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
First responders found him unresponsive in the driver's seat of a gray sedan, with the Houston Fire Department paramedics declaring him deceased on site. Witnesses nearby reportedly heard the sound of gunshots before observing two individuals, described as black males in their early twenties, fleeing the area on foot. Their direction of escape remains unknown, and the investigation continues as detectives seek leads, as reported by the Houston Police Department.
Houston Police Department Homicide Division Detectives M. Providence and M. Althaus are leading the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the young man's death. According to a statement obtained by the Houston Police Department, the identity of the victim, who was 18 years old, cannot be confirmed until the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences notifies the next of kin.
