Houston authorities are calling on the public to help identify three individuals tied to a homicide case from late March, as mentioned in an update from the Houston Police Department. The incident, which unfolded in the parking lot of a convenience store on Fondren Road around 10 p.m., left 28-year-old Benny VanRoss dead from a gunshot wound according to officers who arrived on the scene, according to the City of Houston.
Surveillance images disseminated by the police depict three black males estimated to be in their 20s, and while one of them, clad in a black T-shirt, sweatpants with stripes, and a black ball cap, is directly suspected of the shooting the two others, one in a white sweatshirt, the other wearing all black with eyeglasses, are deemed persons of interest, who could possess critical information in regard to the case. The search for these individuals has intensified, with the HPD Homicide Division, led by Detectives D. Lunceford and J. Jorsch, spearheading the investigation, as reported by the City of Houston.
The response to the tragic episode saw Houston Fire Department paramedics declaring Mr. VanRoss deceased after arriving at the location, as indicated in a public statement. Forensic evidence, alongside witness accounts, has painted a picture of events, pointing towards involvement from the three men, and detective work has been unyielding in shedding light upon the circumstances surrounding the shooting, as obtained by the City of Houston.
