
The Houston Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a robbery suspect involved in a failed heist. On January 12, a man, described as either white or Hispanic, entered a convenience store in Houston. During the incident, he struggled to remove his handgun from his waistband, dropping it into his pants and falling in the process. According to the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division, after retrieving the firearm, the suspect pointed it at the store clerk and demanded the cash from the register. Instead of taking money, he left the store with a case of beer and gunfire was exchanged.
The robbery took place on the 1300 block of Federal in Houston. The suspect is believed to have fled in a white truck, but further details remain unclear. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the suspect, who was wearing a dark pullover and dark-colored pants, to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston. In a statement obtained by the Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division, "Information leading to the charging and/or arrest of any felony suspects may result in a cash payment up to $5,000".
