In a press statement released by Constable Mark Herman's Office, deputies arrived at a location on Walters Road in Houston last week, following a tip regarding a person wanted for a violent crime against a child. During the course of their investigation last Wednesday deputies responded to the tip and identified Zavia Boyd, who was found to have an outstanding felony warrant for injury to a child issued by the Houston Police Department, according to the Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Facebook post.
Law enforcement officials did not disclose the specifics of the allegations against Boyd, however, the charge denotes a serious accusation. "Zavia Boyd was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, for the open Felony Warrant. Her bond was set at $5,000.00 out of the 263rd District Court," said Constable Herman, in a statement obtained by Harris County Constable Precinct 4. The nature of the tip, and the circumstances surrounding the discovery of Boyd's whereabouts were not elaborated upon in the release.
After the arrest, Harris County Constable Precinct 4 encouraged the public to stay updated on local crime, arrests, and traffic incidents through their social media and the “C4 NOW” mobile app. The app gives real-time updates for people wanting to stay informed about their neighborhoods. More legal steps are expected for Boyd, and updates will be shared as available.
