In a recent crackdown by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), three Denver businesses have been handed stiff penalties totaling over $8 million for employing workers not authorized to work in the United States. ICE's Denver office uncovered a range of employment eligibility violations after auditing the workplaces, leading to substantial fines for each company involved.

CCS Denver, Inc. now faces the largest fine of $6,186,171, found in violation of hiring practices after an audit revealed a 100% substantive violation rate and confirmed the knowing employment of at least 87 unauthorized workers. Similarly, PBC Commercial Cleaning Systems, Inc. is facing a $1,599,510 fine due to a 74% violation rate and patterns that revealed at least 12 unauthorized workers were knowingly hired. Green Management Denver wraps up the list with a fine of $270,195, as working under the weight of a 100% violation rate, they were found to have 44 unauthorized employees on their payroll.

According to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement announcement, Special Agent in Charge Steve Cagen emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, "The employment of unauthorized workers undermines the integrity of our immigration system and puts law-abiding employers at a disadvantage." Cagen continued, "These penalties reinforce our commitment to uphold the law and promote a culture of compliance."
