An investigation has been launched in the United School District located in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, following reports of inappropriate conduct by a staff member, predominantly at the high school level.CBS News Pittsburgh reported that the district has refrained from releasing the staff member's name or specifying their role within the schools, and details of the allegations are not currently public.
A parent of a child in the district, Ashley Morrow, expressed her discontent, stating "(It) makes me sick to my stomach," in an interview with CBS News Pittsburgh. Her reaction came after her sixth-grader informed her of the situation. Morrow subsequently received an email from the district's superintendent discussing the allegations. Still, she found the email's lack of detail frustrating, as the superintendent did not provide a name or clarify whether the district still employs the staff member. She contends that these are details parents have the right to know. The Pennsylvania State Police have confirmed their involvement in the investigation. However, no arrests have been made thus far. According to statements from the district and police, there is currently no threat to students or staff.
Superintendent Richard Lucas ensured cooperation with authorities, stating, "The United School District remains steadfast in its commitment to student safety as its primary and greatest priority," according to a statement detailed by WTAE. Lucas further urged anyone with relevant information to come forward and contact the state police.
