
As temperatures rise and Jacksonville approaches another summer, JaxParks is preparing for the 2025 swim season. The City of Jacksonville, Florida - Government has announced via social media that the department is looking to fill lifeguard and pool manager positions with qualified candidates.
Lifeguard candidates can expect a starting wage of $15.00 per hour, while pool managers will earn $16.50 per hour. Applicants must meet three requirements: a 200-yard swim, a two-minute hand-free tread water session, and retrieving a 10-pound brick from the bottom of the pool. These positions provide an opportunity to develop leadership, responsibility, and teamwork skills.
Teens as young as 15 are eligible to apply, offering high schoolers an opportunity to spend the summer working in a poolside environment. With free training currently available, the entry requirements are more accessible than ever.
