
A woman has died following a shooting incident in the Highlands area of Jacksonville, as the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) continues its investigation into early yesterday incident. According to Action News Jax, police were dispatched following a 3:30 a.m. call concerning a shooting at a residence on the 800 block of Hartshill Place.
Upon officers' arrival, they discovered an adult female, in her 20s, inside the home with a wound from gunfire, as confirmed by officials during a news conference, later transported to a hospital by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, where she was declared deceased. As per the First Coast News, JSO's Sgt. Ray Reeves from the homicide unit indicated several witnesses had been detained and were aiding the police with their inquiries, offering cooperation in the ensuing investigation interviews conducted yesterday.
