The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man in connection with a double homicide from 2023. In November of that year, 21-year-old Donte'ris Woods was found dead from gunshot wounds on the pavement of the 3800 block of St. Johns Ave., with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department confirming his death at the scene, as reported by Action News Jax.
The following afternoon, a similarly incident occurred when Woods' girlfriend, 21-year-old Kyliah James, was found dead in Clay County. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office discovered her body, and investigators later determined that James had been murdered in Jacksonville, further details were provided by News4Jax.
Linking the two incidents, the authorities have charged the suspect with a pair of murder counts and an additional charge of arson. Following his arrest, the man was booked into the pretrial detention facility last Friday, as per First Coast News.
