Easter egg hunts and a new playground marked the opening of St. Johns River Park in Jacksonville, with city officials, including Mayor Donna Deegan, cutting the ribbon during the Eggstravaganza Easter celebration.
According to the City of Jacksonville, the park, which honors the city's founder Jean Ribault, features an all-inclusive play area with a ship designed after Ribault's vessel, La Trinite, offering a space for children of all ages and abilities to play together.
Part of the broader I Dig Jax initiative, the park is a step toward revitalizing Downtown and other areas of Jacksonville.
