Thirty years have passed since the Jefferson County community lost Sergeant Timothy Mossbrucker in the line of duty. Yet, his memory remains deeply resonant among his colleagues, friends, and those he served. According to a recent social media post by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Mossbrucker's infectious smile and unwavering dedication inspired many throughout his 17 years of public service.
The incident that claimed Sgt. Mossbrucker's life unfolded three decades ago when he was fatally shot as he arrived at a shooting scene at a South Jeffco supermarket. Before Mossbrucker could exit his patrol car, he was shot. The suspect responsible was later apprehended and eventually took his own life while in jail.
In a moving gesture to honor his service, the Sheriff’s Office announced that at 8 a.m. yesterday, a special moment of silence was observed over the radio to remember Sgt. Mossbrucker.
