A tragic accident occurred on the Interstate 4 exit ramp to Maitland Boulevard, leaving a Kissimmee woman dead and an Orlando man critically injured. The incident, which involved two motorcycles crashing into a concrete wall and being thrown off an overpass, took place around 9:12 p.m. last night, according to FOX 35 Orlando.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 2003 motorcycle, operated by a 25-year-old woman, and a 2022 motorcycle, ridden by a 34-year-old man, both failed to negotiate a right curve while exiting onto Maitland Boulevard. This failure led to the riders traveling off the roadway and colliding with the concrete wall. According to ClickOrlando, the collision's impact was severe enough to eject both riders from their motorcycles and cause them to fall from the overpass.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the man was rushed to Orlando Regional Medical Center with critical injuries. He was found in a grassy field located below the overpass, as reported by an FHP crash report.
The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities have not yet determined the cause of the riders' inability to make the turn. Details regarding the man's current condition have not been released.
