Firefighters quickly contained a blaze at a laundromat located within a South Los Angeles strip mall earlier today. The incident occurred at 7217 S Figueroa St, and crews had the smoke smothering under control within 14 minutes upon arrival. According to a report issued by the Los Angeles Fire Department, fire personnel were dispatched at 10:47 A.M. to tackle the emergency.
The LAFD sprang into action upon reaching the location, encountering smoke funneling from the roof vents of the structure. The source of the fire appeared to be a dryer within the premises. As detailed in the official LAFD alert, firefighters diligently worked to ensure that flames had not spread to the walls or attic of the building and stayed on scene to carry out overhaul operations. No injuries were reported in the incident which is still under investigation.
