Early this morning, the Los Angeles Fire Department was called to extinguish a substantial outside fire that was threatening a commercial building in Downtown LA. According to an LAFD alert, the incident, designated as INC#0338, commenced at 05:42 A.M. at 1631 E 15th Street. Firefighters engaged in an offensive attack against the large rubbish fire that was perilously close to nearby structures.
The fire involved debris from a homeless encampment and posed a significant risk of spreading to an adjacent commercial building measuring 50 feet by 75 feet. The LAFD's swift response team, comprising 31 firefighters, managed to subdue the flames in roughly 18 minutes, a relatively short period given the potential for escalation. In an update posted on their official website, the LAFD announced the knockdown of the fire at 06:00 AM, successfully preventing any spread to the commercial building.
Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries either to civilians or firefighters in the wake of the blaze.
