The City of Las Cruces is gearing up for this year's Electric Light Parade, inviting entries to light up the night with their best illuminated floats. The glowing procession is scheduled to take place on the streets at 9 p.m. on July 3, according to the city's Parks & Recreation Department. Entries can embrace the theme "Las Cruces Unidos" as they set out from Apodaca Park, meandering their way along Solano Drive and Hadley Avenue, and concluding at Maag Softball Complex.

Both commercial and non-commercial groups, as well as car and motorcycle clubs, are encouraged to participate in the festivities. However, space is limited to 20 vehicles per group for car, vehicle, and motorcycle clubs. The department emphasizes that there are no entry or participation fees for joining the parade. However, some restrictions are in place: No bicycles, walkers, single ATVs, UTVs, or single vehicles will be permitted to participate.

Competition is a sparkling aspect of the Electric Light Parade, with trophies awaiting the first, second, and third-place winners in both the commercial and non-commercial categories. There's also a prestigious 'best overall float' trophy up for grabs. As expressed by the City of Las Cruces, floats will be judged based on originality, how well they convey the theme, and their effective use of lights.

The deadline for entries into this radiant event is set for 5 p.m. on June 18—no exceptions to this cut-off will be granted. Additionally, compulsory meetings for parade participants will be conducted on June 26 and June 27 at the Las Cruces Natatorium.
