Details surrounding the incident reveal the pedestrian, a 41-year-old male whose identity has yet to be disclosed pending notification of next of kin, was crossing outside of a marked or implied crosswalk. Struck by a 2019 Hyundai Kona, the individual entered the eastbound travel lanes, redirecting him onto the pavement. The LVMPD reports that the collision took place around 7:51 a.m.
The driver, identified as 23-year-old Isabella Thompson of Las Vegas, stayed at the scene after the accident and cooperated with authorities. LVMPD notes that Thompson had no signs of impairment.
