Las Vegas police are soliciting tips from the public to identify a man accused of animal cruelty after he was captured on video throwing a dog into a dumpster. The incident occurred on Sheila Avenue, as disclosed by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. According to the official LVMPD news release, last Monday morning of April 14, the suspect drove up, exited his vehicle with the dog, and discarded it in a dumpster before driving away.
The video evidence, which can be viewed at the provided YouTube link, shows the man dressed in red shorts and no shirt carrying out the cruel act; after throwing the dog into the dumpster he executed a U-turn, returned to close the lid which authorities say is a further indication of the suspect's intent to abandon the animal. The small dog was thankfully recovered the next day, Tuesday, April 15, and is reportedly in good health after being treated at a local animal hospital.
