Tax season can weigh heavy on the minds and wallets of many, with deadlines looming and paperwork piling. But residents of Lewisville can expect a refreshing reprieve courtesy of the City of Lewisville Way Team and Kona Ice on April 15. Honoring "No Taxation Without Relaxation Day," they will be serving up complimentary cups of Kona Ice's signature shaved ice.
Set to be stationed outside Lewisville City Hall, located at 151 W. Church Street, the Kona Ice truck will help locals chill from Noon to 2 p.m. in celebration of what is being called the National Chill Out Day event. Feeling overwhelmed during the tax time crunch is an experience shared by many, so having a moment of relaxation can come as a small, yet meaningful, respite.
Owners at Kona Ice want to sweeten the deal for taxpayers and non-taxpayers alike. As per the City of Lewisville's official website, Logan Thibodeaux expressed the desire to lighten the load. "This time of year can be overwhelming, so we want to give people a reason to smile and take a break," he said. A sentiment surely understood by all who juggle the pressures of life and the demands of civic duty.
There is something about a tropical treat that can whisk away thoughts, if but momentarily, of to-do lists and form fillings. "National Chill Out Day is all about helping our communities relax, refresh and enjoy a little tropical treat on us," Logan Thibodeaux told the City of Lewisville. With Kona Ice, the team at the City of Lewisville Way is reaching out with an icy hand to soothe the tax-induced fever which grips the nation each spring.
