
Lewisville residents looking to spruce up their homes and neighborhoods are in luck, as the city's Neighborhood Services is hosting a series of free workshops offering insights into various grant opportunities for property enhancements and community projects – with the next session on Tuesday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m. at Thrive located at 1950 S. Dedicated to fostering vibrant communities, these workshops are part of the city's commitment under its “Diverse and Thriving Neighborhoods” Big Move, aligning with the broader Lewisville 2025 vision plan that aims to promote neighborhood vitality and can be found in full on the city's webpage; the sessions are designed to guide residents through the application process for the Property Enhancement Program, Love Your Block initiative, and the Neighborhood Enhancement Program, all of which provide financial support for projects ranging from exterior home repairs to community beautification efforts, the Property Enhancement Program offers homeowners a financial grant-rebate to assist with exterior home repairs, with eligible applicants potentially receiving a 50 percent matching grant, up to a maximum dollar amount.
Moreover, the Love Your Block initiative bestows $500 in reimbursable funds to foster community spirit for endeavors like neighborhood gatherings or local infrastructure improvements, and its applications are open throughout the year, the Neighborhood Enhancement Program ups the ante with a matching grant that can go as high as $12,500 for groups seeking to elevate their local environment, be it through entryway features or emergency response teams.
