An ATV accident on the outskirts of Swanville has left 35-year-old Brandon Janey hospitalized. The Morrison County Sheriff's Office disclosed details of the crash, which occurred on the evening of April 12, when Janey was operating a side-by-side ATV northbound on Badger Creek Road in Culdrum Township.
The official report states that the incident happened at approximately 9:56 pm. Janey, a resident of Little Falls, MN, apparently lost control while attempting to negotiate a curve, and as a result, the ATV left the roadway. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The extent of Janey's injuries was undisclosed, but he was immediately transported to St. Gabriel’s Hospital for treatment.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene to assist the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office, including the Todd County Sheriff’s Office, Swanville First Response Team, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance. Their swift collaboration underscores the tight-knit emergency response network operating across county lines.
Accidents of this nature highlight the inherent risks of ATV riding, especially on rural roads at night. The Morrison County Sheriff's Office, which has been tracking incidents like these, has not reported additional details about the accident or Janey's condition following her hospitalization. It is hoped that recovery for Mr. Janey is swift and full, though time will be the ultimate arbiter of such outcomes.
