In a statement released by the Queens District Attorney's Office, a Long Island man has been indicted on murder charges following a violent road rage incident that left a motorcyclist dead. The DA’s announcement today detailed the charges against Jordan Rosen, who is accused of using his vehicle as a lethal weapon against 55-year-old motorcyclist William McField. The encounter occurred on April 5 after a minor collision on the Long Island Expressway.

Rosen, 42, of Oceanside, was operating a 2024 BMW iX SUV when the incident took place. Reports indicate he chased McField, who was on a 2023 KTM motorcycle, hitting him from behind on Woodhaven Boulevard after both had run through a steady red light. The collision was so forceful it lifted the front of Rosen's BMW and caused it to drive over McField, eventually dragging the ignited motorcycle beneath until colliding with another vehicle. McField suffered severe body trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the District Attorney's Office, Rosen has been arraigned on charges including murder in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, and reckless driving.

The case is now being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Graham Amodeo of the Homicide Bureau, with collaboration from other members of the bureau. Rosen is set to return to court on April 28 and could face up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted. Detective Christopher Paul and Sergeant Robert Denig of the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad are leading the ongoing investigation.
