The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is calling for the public's help to solve a homicide that occurred on April 21, 2023. Deputies, dispatched shortly before midnight, arrived on the 9400 block of Stephens Street in Pico Rivera to find German Gomez Medina fatally shot. According to the Sheriff's Department's Facebook post, the suspected vehicle was last seen heading westbound on Stephens Street towards Durfee Avenue and was caught on video footage.
Initial witness statements obtained by the department have started to paint a picture of the events. Witnesses describe seeing multiple people inside the suspect’s vehicle, including two male Hispanic adults, both donning baseball caps marked with the letter "P" and potentially a female Hispanic occupant. The department is keen to not just identify but also to fully understand the motive behind the shooting. Efforts are ongoing to gather more details that can lead to the suspects' apprehension.
Authorities are now urging anyone with information about the shooting or the identities of the individuals in the suspect vehicle to come forward. "Detectives are looking to identify the suspects in the vehicle and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying these individuals," according to the Sheriff's Department's Facebook post.
