
Major Jeff Long retired from the Greenville Police Department yesterday after 27 years of service. The Greenville Police Department acknowledged his career on a Facebook post, recognizing his leadership and dedication throughout the years. Major Long began as a beat officer in 1998 and held various roles, including Vice and Narcotics Investigator, Squadron Leader, and Operations Major.
During his tenure, Major Long held key positions, including SWAT Commander from 2015 to 2020 and Field Operations Captain until 2023. His leadership was particularly noted during high-pressure situations in Greenville.
The department expressed gratitude for his contributions, stating that Major Long’s impact on the force and community will be felt for years. They thanked him for his service and wished him a fulfilling retirement.
