North St. Louis County drivers, it's time to look for alternative paths. Starting on Monday, Route 67, also known as Lindbergh, will undergo major lane reductions due to bridge rehabilitation work. According to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), the Coldwater Creek bridge deck over Route 67 is set for an overhaul, restricting traffic to one lane in each direction from Sunswept Park Ct. to Candlewyck Court Dr.
Those well-traveled paths, ferrying residents to and fro, will see a snarl as the roadway narrows, commencing at the debut of dawn's light on Monday at 6 a.m. With an expected completion by the end of July, motorists are bracing for a season marred by the throttled flow of steel and rubber. Found roughly a half-mile east of Route AC (New Halls Ferry), the constricted traffic conditions serve as a reminder to plan for extended commute times or seek out less congested trajectories.
The Coldwater Creek bridge is critical infrastructure, and while its restoration may bring temporary discomfort, the safety and longevity of our roads must take precedence. MoDOT's announcement details the significant endeavor to revitalize a bridge weighted by time and travel. Commuters are encouraged to visit MoDOT's website for real-time updates, detour routes, and additional project information.
