A tragic incident occurred in Titusville where Dallas Scott Weed, 28, was arrested after his vehicle fatally struck a pedestrian. The ClickOrlando report states that the crash happened on Friday at approximately 2:50 p.m. at the juncture of Columbia Boulevard and Windover Trail. The victim, identified as D'Lon Pierre Fils, 20, was walking north in the crosswalk, returning to his job at Walmart when the accident occurred.
Following the collision, which involved a white 2017 Dodge Super Duty work truck operated by Weed, Fils was rushed to a local hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead around 4 p.m. According to the FOX 35 Orlando coverage, Weed showed signs of intoxication at the scene and was taken into custody, refusing a breath or blood test as per his traffic citation.
Weed is currently on a $15,000 bond at the Brevard County Jail. As outlined by the City of Titusville's official statement, local authorities are still investigating the incident. The Titusville Police Department will release further details of the case as the investigation concludes.
