
Yesterday afternoon, a 49-year-old man was reportedly shot in the foot in Walnut Park West, an incident currently under investigation by District 6 police. The shooting is said to have occurred near the intersection of Goodfellow Boulevard and Emma Avenue, as detailed by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Officials were alerted to the shooting shortly after 1:20 p.m. and upon arrival quickly located the injured man. The circumstances around the incident remain somewhat unclear, with the victim originally providing inconsistent details of the events. He eventually stated that he was walking in the area when he overheard an argument which swiftly escalated to rapidly become violent, leading to gunshots and his subsequent injury.
The victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital and is currently listed in stable condition. Investigators continue to piece together what transpired and are diligently working to identify any possible suspects involved.
