A man was wounded in a shooting incident on a Blue Line train in Chicago's West Loop on Sunday night. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago police found the man with a gunshot wound to his right thigh on a CTA train at the Racine Blue Line station, shortly after responding to a call at 9:14 p.m.
CBS Chicago provided an eyewitness account from Tayson Wilson, who described the sudden nature of the altercation. "A few moments, as soon as the train pulled up, you have someone come up and shoot someone, just in a flash," Wilson said. He also noted that he was in front of the car where the shooting happened, a chilling proximity to the violence that erupted without warning.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in good condition. As of now, no one is in custody, and the circumstances leading to the shooting remain under investigation, as per CBS Chicago. The shooting caused a temporary disruption of train services at the Racine Avenue stop along the Eisenhower Expressway, with no other injuries reported.
