
A fire broke out at a Mankato residence on Tuesday, with Mankato Fire Department crews responding to the scene at 722 Southhaven Drive. According to a social media post from the City of Mankato, Minnesota Government, the fire department was dispatched at 12:03 p.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters found "heavy fire was coming from the rear of the structure." The swift action by the crew allowed them to quickly extinguish the blaze, thankfully not injuring anyone, given that the home was unoccupied at the time. Identified by officials, the damage estimates stand at $18,000, rendering the home a complete loss.
Investigations into the cause of the fire have commenced, with both Mankato Police and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal working together to unravel the incident's circumstances. The collaborative effort aims to shed light on any potential factors that may have led to this unfortunate event.
