In a sobering reveal from Maricopa County, Luis Antonio Gonzalez faces multiple felony charges after accusations emerged of him sexually assaulting foster children in his care. Gonzalez, born January 1962, has been indicted by the Maricopa County Attorney's Office on eight counts, including aggravated assault and molestation of a child. The detailed indictment brings to the fore harrowing allegations by victims who were once under the supposed protection of his foster home.
One victim's courage to step forward about the abuse suffered approximately three years ago has seemingly led to uncovering more such experiences from two additional victims fostered by Gonzalez. The breadth and detail of the claims have moved the Peoria Police Department to support the damning charges laid out by the Maricopa County Attorney Office. Among these, Gonzalez is to stand trial for one count of public sexual indecency to a minor, two counts of sexual conduct with a minor, both Class Two Felonies, and three counts of molestation of a child, listed as Class Two Felonies as well.
The gravity of these charges has resulted in Gonzalez's confinement under a hefty $150,000 secured appearance bond, a sum set presumably to reflect the severity of the alleged crimes. As per the conditions, he's required to post a 10-percent payment of the full amount to secure release pending trial. It remains to be seen whether he will meet this financial threshold for pre-trial freedom.
