Mesquite is gearing up for National Small Business Week with a series of workshops and events designed to support local entrepreneurs. From May 4-10, those with dreams of starting or expanding their business ventures will have the opportunity to learn the ropes from various industry professionals. According to the City of Mesquite's announcement, a marquee event will be Entrepreneurs Day, slated for May 7, with free access to all-comers.

A highlight of the festivities, Entrepreneurs Day offers quick-fire, 20-minute roundtable sessions addressing key business themes such as "Funding Your Dream", "Marketing on a Budget" and "Legal Essentials". The event also promises insight into "Tech Tools & AI for Small Business", and practical guides to "Leasing Like a Pro" and understanding "Mesquite 101: Permits, Zoning & City Regulations". Along with these informative sessions, the day includes a panel discussion with seasoned entrepreneurs and a chance to connect with peers in a networking lounge.

Mesquite's Small Business Week kicks off with a National Small Business Week proclamation at the Mesquite City Hall on May 5. Students and aspiring business owners will not want to miss the Mesquite ISD Pitch Day on May 6 at the MISD K. David Belt Professional Development Center. Additional highlights include a tailored event for young professionals on May 8, and a unique opportunity for business owners to make their 'Quick Pitch' to potential investors or partners on May 9, albeit with time-slots limited to a first-come-first-served basis of 20 participants.

The week's activities will culminate on May 10 with the Downtown Mesquite Farmers Market Small Business Day, where local vendors showcase their products and services amid the bustling ambiance of Front Street Station.
