The city is gearing up for an inclusive, family-friendly event aimed at fostering community unity and connection. On May 17, the Citywide Council District Picnic comes to the north lawn of Mesquite Arts Center, located at 1527 N. Galloway Ave., featuring a range of activities and complimentary refreshments.
The event, with its no-cost entry, runs from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and presents an opportunity for residents from all parts of Mesquite to engage in leisure, delighting in the presence of their neighbors while city leaders and staff weave themselves into the tapestry of the local populace. A rare, casual backdrop deviating from the rigidity of council chambers promises a unique familiarity.
This community gathering is more than just a casual soiree. It's a chance to shake hands with the individuals steering the municipal ship, in a statement obtained by the official City of Mesquite website, Mayor Dan Alemán underscored the picnic's intent: "This picnic is all about bringing people together in a relaxed, fun setting," adding, "It’s a chance for residents to meet community leaders, enjoy some good food, and just hang out as a community. We want everyone to feel welcome and be a part of the great things happening in Mesquite."
