The Metropolitan Police Department is actively seeking the public's help to locate a suspect in a business burglary that took place in Northwest, D.C. With the incident occurring in the early hours last Thursday, the suspects entered a business on the 1100 block of U Street, taking property and thereafter, making an escape.
After an investigation by detectives, Chala Girma Degu, age 30, was arrested last Friday pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by the D.C. Superior Court. Charged with Burglary Two, Degu joined Dominick Paris, 40, who was nabbed a day later, both of no fixed abode. However, one member of the thieving trio is still at large, despite the arrests.
The Metropolitan Police Department has released a photo and a video link, urging anyone with information to step forward. The video, which features the suspect, is available on YouTube and could assist the MPD in identifying the individual.
The department is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for this, or any violent crime in the district. Concerned citizens with valuable tips are encouraged to call the police at (202) 727-9099 or to send a text to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
