Residents of the 11th District, take note: Alderman Peter Burgelis will be available for face-to-face meetings tomorrow. Between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., constituents can visit the Zablocki Library, located at 3501 W. Oklahoma Ave, to discuss community and city-wide issues directly with their elected official.
This gesture is part of Alderman Burgelis's ongoing efforts to maintain an open line of communication with the people he represents. It is all too easy for politicians to become distant figures, so "I always enjoy hosting in-district office availability to meet residents where they are and to discuss topics facing our neighborhoods and the city," Burgelis said in a statement.
The meeting will afford residents the chance to express concerns, share ideas, ask questions, or provide any other comments they may have about life in the 11th District. Following tomorrow's session, starting on Friday, Alderman Burgelis will also hold 'Coffee Hours.' These informal gatherings will take place at Rescued Roasters, 4435 W. Forest Home Ave, as noted in the attached flyer. Aiming to make civic engagement as approachable as a cup of coffee, this series of meetings reflects the alderman's commitment to being an accessible figure in the community.
