A tragic incident unfolded on a sunny afternoon yesterday in Wauwatosa as a 67-year-old Milwaukee woman was struck and killed by a Union Pacific train. Wauwatosa police reported that the accident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of 111th Street and Burleigh, according to a release obtained by WISN. The victim was attempting to cross east to west when she was hit by the oncoming train.
The emergency response, led by the Wauwatosa Fire Department, arrived at the scene to find the woman on the west side of the tracks, north of Home Goods, and performed life-saving measures to no avail.
