The Minneapolis Police Department recently took to social media to announce a significant breakthrough in a vandalism case that left Dinkytown's popular eatery, Burrito Loco, with a hefty bill for damages. The restaurant was hit hard when every ground-floor window was smashed, leading to over $70,000 in damages. An officer from the 2nd Precinct, in collaboration with the MPD Crime Lab, set out to piece together the details of the crime, scouring through numerous hours of surveillance footage from various locations.
The painstaking investigation paid off when a suspect was pinpointed. This discovery was made possible due to an extensive review of the video material, which required attention to detail and perseverance. The Minneapolis PD hailed the subsequent actions, stating, "That's when our 4th Precinct Community Response Team (CRT), along with our partners at Blaine PD, stepped in to locate and apprehend the individual."
An ensuing search warrant executed on the suspect's vehicle turned out to be the final nail in the coffin. Inside the vehicle, authorities found clothing that matched the attire of the perpetrator seen in the surveillance videos.
The suspect, whose name has not been disclosed yet, faces serious repercussions for their actions.
