The development comes after detectives from the Community Engagement Division- Behavioral Assessment and Administrative Unit (BAAU) responded to a reported threat at the school on Tuesday, March 18, according to a press release from the Montgomery County Department of Police.
The investigation into the incident, as reported by the Montgomery County Government website, quickly turned to action, as detectives worked to unravel the intent behind the threatening communication. The male suspect, whose identity remains protected due to his minor status, was swiftly identified as a 17-year-old Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) student.
