Tragedy struck Fort Collins on Monday evening as a fatal crash occurred involving a motorcycle and a vehicle. At around 7:01 pm, a severe collision happened at the intersection of South Timberline Road and Bighorn Drive, resulting in the death of the motorcycle rider, according to the local authorities.
Fort Collins Police responded to reports of the accident. Upon arriving at the scene, they found an injured adult male motorcyclist who sustained life-threatening injuries during the crash. He was promptly transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased," as mentioned by the Fort Collins Police Department. The initial investigation indicated that a 2018 Hyundai Tucson, driven by an adult female, was making a left turn when it collided with the southbound 2023 Yamaha motorcycle.
The CRASH (Collision Reconstruction and Scene Handling) Team of Fort Collins Police took charge of the investigation following the severe nature of the incident. The area around South Timberline Road was closed down for over five hours to allow for a thorough examination of the crash site as the police worked to determine what factors contributed to the deadly event.
