The suspect, who attempted to mask his identity with multiple false names and without any proper identification, was found carrying a phone that did not belong to him. After a brief investigation, the police discovered that the phone was from a recently burglarized home on South New Hope Road, Nashville—just near the county line. The residence was broken into by smashing a window, an aggravated burglary that seemed to be part of the suspect's afternoon agenda, as reported by the Mt. Juliet Police Department.
In a statement obtained by Mt. Juliet Police Department, "Thanks to thorough investigation, jail booking procedures, and fingerprinting, the suspect was identified as a 24-year-old from Memphis." His run from the law came to an end as he was booked into Wilson County Jail, facing aggravated burglary charges out of Nashville in addition to his attempt to evade capture.
Reflecting on the arrest, Mt. Juliet Police said they were proud of their officers for staying alert and protecting the community. They suggested, “This arrest likely stopped more crimes from happening in our city,” according to the Mt. Juliet Police Department. Their quick response to suspicious activity shows how staying watchful can help prevent crime and make the community feel safer.
