A routine traffic stop in Mt. Juliet turned into a substantial arrest when an eagle-eyed officer spotted a Ford truck sporting a license plate registered to a Lincoln SUV. The Mt. Juliet Police shared details of the Saturday incident on social media, unveiling the layers of offenses uncovered during what should have been a straightforward citation moment.
The man found at the truck's helm, a 46-year-old Nashville resident, was carrying the weight of five active warrants from a trifecta of counties, a fact discovered by the officer after pulling over the vehicle. According to the Mt. Juliet Police, the list of warrants ranged from failures to appear to probation violation, all cris-crossing through Wilson, Smith, and Van Buren counties with a common thread of meth possession.
This afternoon, an officer stopped a Ford truck after noticing its license plate was unlawfully registered to a different vehicle—a Lincoln SUV. What began as a traffic stop quickly turned into much more.

Specifically, in Wilson County, the driver faced two counts of failure to appear and bond jumping, aside from the probation violation for meth possession. Smith County had him on the books for a similar probation violation, while Van Buren County authorities had been seeking him for driving on a suspended license. The arrest was executed without incident, and he was booked into the Wilson County Jail promptly after.
The Mt. Juliet Police Department's social media post emphasized the diligence of their officers, stating, "What began as a traffic stop quickly turned into much more."
