The Nashville community has been called upon to aid in an ongoing investigation following a fatal collision that claimed the lives of a Florida couple earlier this month. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department has turned to social media in hopes of gathering evidence, appealing for any photos or video footage bystanders may have of the tragic incident.
On the morning of April 4, at the intersection of 12th Avenue and Demonbreun Street, Kirk Granfors, 64, and Kathy Granfors, 68, of Jacksonville, Florida, were killed when their taxi was struck by a stolen Jeep Grand Cherokee. According to a social media post from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the Toyota van taxi they were in was hit while crossing the intersection on a green light. The Jeep, reported to have been driving at high speeds, crashed into the passenger side of the taxi.
The Traffic Division of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is urging anyone in the vicinity of the crash who may have captured the collision on camera to come forward. This call for help is about understanding what led to the deaths and bringing justice and closure to the families affected.
