North Carolina drivers seeking a more streamlined toll payment option now have expanded access to NC Quick Pass transponders. The state's Department of Transportation announced that 52 retail locations statewide are now offering the transponders. This is in conjunction with Speedway and 7-Eleven, where customers can pick up a "Transponder on the Go" without having to wait for an online order.
Along with the new retail partnerships, the program's current collaboration with Amazon continues to ensure that obtaining a transponder is convenient. As part of the expanded availability, Speedway stores in the Triangle and Charlotte area are now stocking the NC Quick Pass Sticker at 18 new locations. Moreover, 7-Eleven has notably increased its participating outlets to 31 across the state.
For those who prefer the in-person experience, participating license plate agencies (LPAs) are also providing a dual service. Customers can not only purchase NC Quick Pass Sticker transponders at these LPAs but also have the ability to pay toll invoices and replenish account funds directly.
The process for locating a nearby retail partner has been streamlined as well. An interactive map on NC Quick Pass's official website helps customers find the nearest location offering the transponders. Activation, a vital step to ensure the transponder functions on toll roads, can be done by visiting the same website.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, these extensions are all about providing more points of access and convenience for bikers and drivers within the state. With more options to pick up a transponder on the go, travel is poised to become smoother for those utilizing North Carolina's toll roads.
