Robert Lloyd Goodman was sentenced to 45 years to life in prison last Friday, for multiple sex crimes involving minors. Goodman pleaded guilty the week before his trial to three charges, including oral copulation of a child aged 10 or under and multiple counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14, as stated by the Nevada County District Attorney's Office.
On March 14, Goodman's daughter delivered a victim impact statement in court, describing the abuse she endured over nearly ten years and its impact on her life. She said she came forward out of concern for her step-sister. Judge B. Scott Thomsen acknowledged the statement and said the legal resolution is intended to support her recovery process, as reported by the Nevada County District Attorney's Office.
According to the Nevada County District Attorney's Office on their Facebook page, Robert Lloyd Goodman was sentenced to prison and will be required to register as a sex offender for life if he is ever paroled. The case was investigated by Nevada County Sheriff's Sergeant Josephine Strachan and prosecuted by Supervising Deputy District Attorney Helenaz Moteabbed Hill. Judge B. Scott Thomsen ordered Goodman to begin serving his sentence immediately and noted the impact of the case on Goodman's daughter.
