A session specifically tailored for the youth, as detailed on the city's official website, Red Cross Youth CPR: Child and Infant, is scheduled for May 17 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The class includes comprehensive training for adolescents aged 11 to 14, honing their abilities to respond aptly to emergencies involving infants and children. The curriculum emphasizes CPR techniques, first aid, and managing respiratory and cardiac crises.
In the same vein, but with a focus on a slightly older demographic, aspiring lifeguards aged 15 and above have the opportunity to attend the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course. Set for May 28 through May 30, this program runs from 9:00 am to 5:00pm daily in the Das Rec Pool Area. The coursework is rich with real-world scenarios, where future lifeguards learn to identify, avert, and react skillfully to aquatic emergencies – a foundational step towards a professional lifeguarding career.
