
A high-stakes incident unfolded in New Port Richey when Pasco Sheriff's deputies engaged in the pursuit of a warrant suspect resulted in a vehicle chase, a crash, and the subsequent arrest of the subject. The Pasco Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies were attempting to serve a warrant for aggravated kidnapping when the individual fled in a vehicle, prompting aviation units to assist in tracking the subject's erratic movements.
The chase came to an abrupt end when the suspect's vehicle collided with other cars at the intersection of Moon Lake and Ridge Rd.; this brought about a resolution to the pursuit although it also led to a traffic accident scene that investigators had to sort through, fortunately, there were no severe injuries to bystanders. Both the suspect and their passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries during the collision. The Florida Highway Patrol has taken the reins to investigate the specifics of the crash.
