Nine individuals were taken into custody as part of a concerted human trafficking sting in the Hendersonville area, with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Human Trafficking Unit at the helm, multiple sources have reported. Over April 11-12, FOX17 detailed that the efforts included the Hendersonville Police, the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, the 18th Judicial Drug Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Office of District Attorney General Ray Whitley.
The operation utilized decoy advertisements placed on known sex trafficking and prostitution-linked websites aimed at identifying individuals pursuing commercial sex acts with minors, resulting in arrests. Among those apprehended were individuals facing varied charges, including solicitation of a minor and promoting prostitution. The Sumner County Jail became their temporary holding place. WSMV confirmed the names and charges, which ranged from promoting prostitution to patronizing a minor. In the undercover joint operation’s wake, law enforcement managed to recover two individuals, presumed victims of trafficking, offering them much-needed services through the organization's Thistle Farms and AncoraTN.
Those named in the operation span a spectrum of age and origin, including Vincent Billingsley from Memphis, charged with promoting prostitution, Steven Cannon from Charlotte with similar charges, as well as Trinity Knutson and Druce Phillips, both facing prostitution-related charges, with the latter specifically cited for counts regarding minors, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation detailed the charges against each suspect. These latest arrests underscore this criminal enterprise's hidden but pervasive nature.
