After losing to No. 9 Cal State Northridge last Friday, the No. 5 Hawaii men’s volleyball team won the rematch with a 3-0 sweep. The set scores were 25-18, 25-21, and 29-27, as reported by KHON2.
According to Spectrum Local News, the Rainbow Warriors improved on both offense and defense, increasing their number of aces by eight times compared to last Friday's match. The team also recorded more kills and blocks. Kurt Nusterer ended the final set with a service ace.
Hawaii may need to adjust its lineup after freshman opposite Kristian Titriyski injured his right ankle during the team’s first match point last Saturday, as per Spectrum Local News. Titriyski recorded 12 kills, and teammate Nusterer had eight. Hawaii will face No. 1 Long Beach State at the Stan Sheriff Center. One of the two matches is sold out, the 14th sellout in program history, and only "a smattering of tickets" remain. The series will take place during Hawaii’s Senior weekend.
