Get ready for some fun, Ohioans, because the kickoff to summer is just around the corner with the Ohio State Fair. Starting May 1, advance tickets go on sale and come with a sweet deal. According to a news release from the Ohio Expo Center and State Fair this year, fairgoers can snag a single-day pass for just $8 through Ticketmaster. And for those who can't get enough of deep-fried everything and carnival rides, new multi-day passes promise more bang for your buck.
Mark your calendars, because from July 23 through August 3, the state fair will be the place to be. In what seems like a nod to the die-hard fair enthusiasts, the organizers have introduced a three-day pass and a 12-day pass, "Both multi-day passes will be a cost savings to visitors who enjoy attending the Ohio State Fair more than once, or even every day of the 12-day event," the release noted. The passes aren't just a one-time entry deal either. They allow one admission per day, which is handy if you want to spread out your fair adventures over a few days or go all-in for the entire run.
But before you start planning your fair itinerary, let's talk logistics. Along with advance tickets, parking can be pre-purchased for $10. That's a small price to avoid the day-of scramble for a good spot. However, if you'd rather keep that cash for some extra corn dogs, there's also a free park-and-ride option. Just park at one of the nearby lots and hop on the shuttle that will ferry you right to the gates without spending a dime on parking.
Whether you're in it for the livestock shows, the endless food on a stick, or the adrenaline-pumping rides, the Ohio State Fair is gearing up to be another unforgettable summer highlight. "Once tickets go on sale, visitors will have the opportunity to purchase $10 parking in advance or at the parking booths when they arrive at the Fair," the news release stated.
