Osborn, 24, and Hermosillo, 22, from Oklahoma City, have been sentenced to federal prison for unlicensed firearm dealing and possession. The U.S. Attorney's Office reported that Osborn will serve 68 months, while Hermosillo will serve 168 months. Starting in July 2024, the two were involved in selling around 20 firearms to undercover Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents.
A man has been sentenced for illegally selling firearms after an undercover investigation revealed the weapons were intended for trafficking to Mexico. On November 26, 2024, federal authorities charged Osborn with dealing firearms without a license and possessing firearms as a drug user. Despite being informed by undercover agents—posing as buyers—that the weapons would be trafficked, the sales continued. Osborn pleaded guilty on December 5, 2024. Last Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Scott L. Palk sentenced him and ordered three years of supervised release following his prison term, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Hermosillo was sentenced to 14 years in prison followed by supervised release after pleading guilty to possessing firearms that could be used in felonies. His prior convictions include attempted burglary and firearm possession following a juvenile adjudication. The sentencing is part of the Department of Justice's Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative to reduce violent crime. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Oklahoma City Police Department, with prosecution by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Drew E. Davis and Mary E. Walters, as stated by the U.S. Attorney's Office.
