A fatal collision occurred in southwest Charlotte, leaving one person dead and three others injured late last night. The accident took place around 10:30 p.m. near Ayrshire Glen Place and Shopton Road, where one individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. The emergency medical team transported the three survivors to Atrium CMC, with one sustaining life-threatening injuries and two with serious injuries, as WCCB Charlotte reported.
According to the Queen City News, the road was temporarily closed to aid first responders, blocking Shopton Road between Lebanon Road and Ayrshire Glen following the crash. Currently, details regarding the cause of the accident remain unconfirmed, as investigators are still piecing together the circumstances that led to this event.
Authorities continue their investigation. The road has since been reopened.
