A serious incident marked the weekend in Ottawa County as a two-vehicle collision resulted in multiple injuries, with one person being ejected from their vehicle. The accident, reported by WZZM13, occurred shortly before 5 p.m. at 146th Avenue and Stanton Street in West Olive last Saturday.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office (OCSO), which is still investigating the crash, a 32-year-old man from Wyoming, who was not wearing his seatbelt at the time, was ejected from his 1991 Chevy truck when it collided with a 2015 Dodge Ram after failing to obey a stop sign. The Dodge, with a 73-year-old man from Zeeland at the helm and his 75-year-old female passenger, had been traveling westbound on Stanton Street and had the right of way. The victims found pinned inside their Dodge by the responders were reportedly in need of immediate medical assistance.
As reported by WWMT, all three individuals involved in the crash were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. "News Channel 3 has reached out to OCSO for updates on the condition of the injured people," further endeavoring to provide clarity on their current status.
